Hot Runner Systems

In hot runner systems, temperature uniformity is critical to ensure balanced
melt flow delivery for part-to-part consistency as well as preventing runner
obstructions and material degradation. Processors realize enhanced
production efficiencies due to the added hot runner precision of the thermal
profile as well as reducing cycle times, material scrap and overall system
costs.  Regardless of the nozzle or manifold, we have the solution to meet the
    need.  Hot runner applications include:

  • Transportation
  • Packaging
  • Building and construction
  • Toys
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Furniture and furnishings
  • Consumer and institutional
  • Industrial and machinery
  • Medical premium materials

Heated Hoses for Hot Melt Applications

Flexotherm manufactures a complete line of automatic standard, flexible and
water resistant heated hoses, as well as hand gun hoses, to meet a wide
variety of applications.  All of our hoses are engineered to meet or exceed
industry standards, using a PTFE Teflon inner core (260C maximum operating
temperature) with a stainless steel overbraid (1400C melting point).

  • Our high temperature hoses feature a built-in electric heating element
  • TFE Teflon core is reinforced with a tin/copper overbraid
  • Construction includes thermal insulation and scuff resistant jacket.
  • Available with most standard couplings, they are supplied hydraulically
    and electrically complete.
  • They offer flexibility, durability, chemical inertness and high resistance to
corrosion over their entire temperature range

    Tubular Heaters

This new tubular element with multiple coils and/or thermocouples inside
one sheath answers your need for a versatile, innovative tubular heater.
This method of packaging a thermocouple inside of a heater with one or
more resistance coils provides the ability to sense the heaters' internal
temperature accurately. This is the first tubular heater with three-phase
capability.  The three coil, three-phase heater will offer a lower amperage
solution while delivering the full power required in a compact heater
package.  Previously three separate heaters would have been required to do
    the same job.

    Cable Heaters

This versatile cable heater can be formed into a variety of shapes as
dictated by application.  These small diameter, high performance units are
fully annealed and readily bent to the desired configuration.

  • Plastic injection molding nozzles
  • Semiconductor manufacturing and wafer processing
  • Hot metal forming dies and punches
  • Sealing and cutting bars
  • Restaurant and food processing equipment
  • Cast-in heaters
  • Laminating and printing presses
  • Air heating
  • Heating in a vacuum environment
  • Textile Manufacturing

    Coil & Cable Heaters

Versatile cable heaters can be formed into a variety of shapes as dictated by

    Cartridge Heaters

With premium materials and tight manufacturing controls, FIREROD heaters
provide superior heat transfer, uniform temperatures and resistance to
oxidation and corrosion even at high temperatures.

  • Nickel-chromium wire is precisely wound and centered in the unit
assuring even, efficient distribution of heat to the sheath
  • Magnesium oxide insulation of specific grain and purity, swaged to the
proper density, results in high dielectric strength and contributes to
    faster heat up
  • Incoloy sheath resists oxidation and corrosion from many chemicals and
    environments

    Thick Film Heaters

Our Stainless steel thick film conduction heaters are ideal for use in may
applications where fast response and uniformity are essential.  These high
performance heaters use thick film technology to provide maximum
temperature response ina compact package.  A clamp-on thick film heater
provides the best possible combination of heat transfer, themrmal efficiency
    and temperature uniformity.  Applications:

  • Industrial Machines
  • Foodservice
  • Life Sciences
  • Plastics
  • Semiconductor

    Nozzle & Slip-on Heaters

We offer a full line of hot runner nozzle heaters for the plastics industry as
well as slip-on heaters for the medical and analytical industries.  While
every heater has a unique set of capabilities, each nozzle heater is designed
to meet specific application requirements.  Whether you require high
performance, high temperature or high watt density, we have the heater to
best fit your application.  Nozzle heater benefits:

  • Rapid thermal response
  • Precise temperature profile
  • Low physical profile
  • Precision fit
  • Repeatability
  • Optional external thermocouple
  • Easy installation and removal

    Band Heaters

Watlow’s MI Band heaters are made with our exclusive mineral insulation—
a material that has much higher thermal conductivity than the mica and hard
ceramic insulators used in conventional heaters. The result is more efficient
heat transfer ... a performance solution that lowers element temperature and
    increases life.  Features:

  • Moisture resistant construction
  • Less than 1 milliamp current leakage at stabilized operating temp
  • High performance construction
  • Helps satisfy machine requirements for CE Euronorm
  • Standard EN 60204
  • Avoids nuisance tripping of GFIs.

    RTD Sensor

The cold end seal on this RTD sensor keeps moisture, oil and other
contaminants from the RTD sensor maintaining the integrity of the most
demanding application.  These RTD sensors use a cold end formed seal
which houss a rubber gland.  This unique seal replaces the previous epoxy
seal and provides protection from a wide variety of chemicals including
bleach, ammonia, salt water, motor oil, boric acid and nitrous acid.
    Applications include:

  • Refrigeration of condensation units
  • Food processing and storage
  • Industrial ovens or dryers
  • Medical research
  • Environmental control systems
  • Packaging equipment

    Basic Temperature and Limit Controllers

The basic and limit microprocessor based controller provides an
economical solution for applications requiring simple on-off control.  These
controllers and limits are available in a broad range of packaging options,
allowing users to select the best version for their individual application.  The
controllers and limits are available with or without an operator interface and
can be ordered in square DIN panel mount, DIN-rail mount or open board
    design configurations.
